Operation Friendship Seniors Society serves Edmonton ’ s inner-city seniors , providing care without judgment to improve the quality of life for those over 55 years of age who are in need . ARTA has a long history volunteering with OFSS , and a team of four continued the tradition on July 24 .

Then there ’ s the ARTCF Charity Golf Classic , in support of the Alberta Retired Teachers Charitable Foundation , held on July 8 , 2024 . This beautiful ( and hot !) day saw 140 golfers take to the course , was generously supported by many sponsors and prize donors , and had fifteen ARTA staff and fourteen ARTA members volunteer their time to ensure the success of the tournament . Altogether , over $ 27,000 was raised in support of the charitable foundation , which supports seniors in Alberta in the areas of housing , health care , and English as a Second Language education .
