ARTA Scholarships

VI OKO
On behalf of everyone at ARTA , sincere congratulations to this year ’ s recipients .

Every August ARTA awards six scholarships , three to degree students and three to certificate or diploma students enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution . Applications for these scholarships are only accepted from direct relatives — children , grandchildren or first and second generation nieces and nephews — of current ARTA members .

The ARTA Governance Committee is entrusted with ascertaining the scholarship recipients . Academic achievement , community involvement , volunteer work , future goals and personal accomplishments supported by two letters of reference are used to determine the scholarship winners . Selecting the eventual recipients was made exceedingly difficult this year because of the outstanding qualifications of the applicants .
TW Insurance Brokers , in conjunction with ARTA , provides the ARTA – TW Insurance Scholarships that are awarded to students presently registered in the second , third or fourth year of a program leading to an undergraduate degree .
The ARTA – TW Insurance Degree Scholarship winners are as follows :
• $ 5,000 — Calvin W . Howard from Edmonton in the Bachelor of Science Honours Neuroscience degree program at the University of Alberta ;

• $ 2,000 — Sarah L . Rose from Sherwood Park in the Bachelor of Arts Honours program at the University of Alberta .
ARTA sponsors the ARTA Certificate / Diploma Scholarships that are granted to applicants who have successfully completed one or more full years of a certificate or diploma program .
