PHOTO CONTEST

Maria Lentz Member, Communications Committee, ARTA

2025

When asked to be a judge for the 2025 ARTA Photo Contest, I was somewhat wary and unsure I had the required skills to evaluate the artistic work of others. But Virginia Quist, ARTA’ s Manager, Creative Services( and a photographer in her own right), and Jacquie Klatt( a previous master-category photo-contest winner) helped me to navigate this memorable process. I learned a lot about photography and, in particular, to appreciate the time, skill, and thought put into each submitted photograph. We received 244 contest entries this year, and it was no easy feat to select a winner. On behalf of the Communications Committee and my fellow judges, I extend our thanks to everyone who entered the 2025 ARTA Photo Contest. The photos of nature and of your travel experiences provided a pleasant reminder to take time to see the beauty in our world. The Reflections category showcased some incredible technical skill, and the Heroes category brought to light just how much heroism there is around us, every day.
I would also like to thank Collette for providing a $ 500 travel voucher for the two winners in our Travel category.
Plans for the 2026 ARTA Photo Contest are already underway. Please continue to capture those special photos that enrich our understanding of life and the world around us.
