Another problem for bees is the Varroa mite, a tiny parasite that spreads viruses and feeds on bees as they grow. The presence of these mites is another contributor to bee colony collapse. Sustainable agriculture researchers at the University of Alberta are studying Varroa mites in bee colonies and methods to control their numbers.
Bees are doing an important job. Like all heroes, sometimes they need a little help. Take charge, spread the word, and do what you can to improve life on planet Earth. These tiny heroes require protection and proactive solutions before it’ s too late.
