SCHOLARSHIPS

Ron Thompson Chair , Governance Committee , ARTA

Each year , ARTA and Orbit Insurance Services sponsor scholarships for students who have completed one , two , or three years of their postsecondary program . ARTA also offers the ARTA 101 Continuing Education Scholarship for an active teacher who is upgrading their credentials , and a second ARTA 101 scholarship for a student who is the immediate relative of an ARTA 101 member and meets the same criteria as our other recipients .

This year we received a total of seventyseven applications . On behalf of the Governance Committee , I would like to thank all applicants and congratulate all those who have been selected for an award .

Melanie Lu My goal within the next ten years is to be an ally to teachers , diverse leaders , students , and parents . I want to pursue leadership as an assistant principal or principal . I also plan to further my education with graduate courses or a doctorate in the education field .

Zoryanna Kahanyshyn-Fontaine If I were a superhero , I would want to be Black Widow . She is fierce and confident like I aspire to be . We are both calm and collected , and Black Widow , out of all the Avengers , seems to be the most rational . Lastly , her relationship with her sister reminds me of my own relationship with my younger sister .
