FROM THE CEO
Leaving It Better Than She Found It
Daniel Mulloy | Chief Executive Officer, ARTA
For the past decade, news & views has been shaped by the thoughtful leadership of editor Margaret Sadler.
After contributing to forty issues over ten years, Margaret is stepping down from her role, leaving behind a legacy that has influenced both our publication and the people who create it.
The quote that captures the spirit of Margaret’ s work is“ Try and leave this world a little better than you found it” from Robert Baden Powell. While simple, the sentiment reflects the care, dedication, and purpose she brought to news & views throughout her time as editor. Margaret approached editing with grace, intelligence, and a genuine curiosity about the world. She encouraged us to think more deeply, to ask better questions, and to be bold in the stories we chose to tell. She believed that a magazine could do more than inform readers and could also spark ideas, invite reflection, and create meaningful conversation.
Her influence could be felt in every issue. With a careful eye and a commitment to quality, Margaret worked tirelessly to ensure that each edition of news & views met the highest standard. The magazine we see today reflects that dedication. It is thoughtful, engaging, and shaped by the belief that good writing and good ideas matter.
Margaret’ s impact extends beyond the pages of the magazine. Those who have worked alongside her know she is not only a talented editor but also a generous and thoughtful colleague. She has a remarkable ability to bring people together and to make those around her feel valued and encouraged.
She is also an incredible baker, and over the years she has shared her homemade creations with the staff. Her treats became a welcome tradition in the office and were always appreciated, especially during busy production days. These small acts of generosity reflect the warmth and kindness that Margaret brings to everything she does.
Through her work, Margaret has touched the lives of thousands of readers. At the same time, she has left a lasting impression on her colleagues through her guidance, encouragement, and friendship. As Margaret steps away from her editorial role, we thank her for the dedication, care, and talent she has given to news & views. Her influence will remain part of the magazine for years to come, and we are grateful for the many ways she has helped make it better.
