The Alberta Retired Teachers Charitable Foundation ( ARTCF ) is pleased to announce a new partnership that will continue its mission to improve the lives of seniors in Alberta .
Late last year , ElderCare Edmonton received a grant from the foundation to help fund their programming , specifically for providing subsidies that give low-income seniors the opportunity to participate .
ElderCare Edmonton supports seniors and caregivers in the Edmonton region through recreational programming that fosters social connection , physical health , and cognitive well-being .
“ Our programs provide seniors with meaningful interactions and activities that encourage mobility and opportunities for cognitive enrichment , such as games , music therapy , and engaging discussions ,” says Natalie Joly , the executive director of ElderCare Edmonton .
“ At the same time , we offer caregivers a welldeserved break , giving them time to recharge while their loved ones are in a safe , supportive , and engaging environment .”
The subsidies made possible by the ARTCF grant will allow more seniors to take advantage of this programming , with the goal of enriching the quality of their lives .
“ Thanks to this support , we can ensure that financial barriers don ’ t prevent seniors from participating in our programs ,” says Joly . “ These subsidies open the door for creating brighter days for participants and their families .”
